The Sydney Marathon, presented by ASICS, is the sole remaining participant legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The event is owned by Athletics Australia and managed by Pont3. Mars Design was appointed to develop the brand identity for this new event. We developed the brand identity along with various brand executions for advertising and signage for the event.

Services Delivered

  • Developed a brand device that showcases Sydney as a diverse, progressive, sophisticated, vibrant, and world-class city. Integrated the ‘blue line’ as a significant design element, representing the 2000 Olympic Marathon marker, still present on parts of the original course. Symbolizes the sails of the Opera House and incorporates the 'M' for Marathon.
  • Provide production of brand and wayfinding signage.
  • Coordinated the production and delivery of assets directly to the client and print teams.
